How to Overcome Procrastination and Achieve Your Goals

Are you struggling to overcome procrastination, so you can take the action that you know would support you in achieving your goals?

Have you found yourself in thought loops, too ‘caught up’ to take action?

Or have you ever held back on a difficult conversation because you hoped that the issue might resolve itself?

Or gotten yourself too busy to do what it takes to actually move the needle?

Or even thought, “If it’s meant to be, it’ll happen”?

You are not alone.

But why do we even procrastinate?

Sir Isaac Newton’s law of inertia states “An object in motion stays in motion, an object in rest stays in rest”. We humans are pretty much the same. We can easily find ourselves stuck in a state of rest (or in our comfort zone), waiting for external forces to push us forward (or out of our comfort zone).

However, WE are the creator of our lives and change comes from within. So it’s about us taking the steps, not expecting our outer reality to change.

It’s all about getting in motion and then keeping up momentum, that changes everything.

I’m not really talking about ‘pushing yourself’ into action - although sometimes that might be required. ;)

No, what I’m really referring to here in order to overcome procrastination we need two key ingredients:

ALIGNMENT and SKILL SETS

It’s all about getting into aligned motion and then keeping up momentum, that changes everything.

Check out my video and find out the exact 4 Steps to overcome procrastination, so you can build aligned momentum and achieve your goals.

In summary, the four steps to overcome procrastination are:

1.Acknowledge that you are the creator of your life

Acknowledge that you are the creator of your life and are a powerful source to be reckoned with. No one is going to save us.

2. Align with your goals

We need to make sure we’re fully aligned with the goal that we’re trying to achieve and are fully behind it with both feet in, not one foot out. That means, we have to face all conscious and subconscious limiters that might try and sabotage us from going fully after our desired outcomes. What’s the hidden payoff of not getting there? Face any and all resistance, so you can go into full alignment with your goal.

Here is where clearing work comes in as most of the time, it’s not logical what holds us back, but a feeling that needs to be unearthed, so we can get to the root cause of the misalignment.

3. Start taking aligned action

Step 1, step 2, step 3, roll it out. Make sure you break down big goals into tiny bite-sized chunks so you can actually get rolling and get that momentum happening.

4. Praise yourself

Celebrate yourself for every step you take, even if it feels tricky. Even if it feels kind of weird, because you haven’t done it very much before. Give yourself that pat on the shoulder internally, and celebrate every step that you’re taking towards your goals, as that’s how you form a positive link to the actions and will want to do more of them!

Follow these steps and you’re going to see momentum gathering (and flow!), and that’s what I want for you.

Remember, every step you take brings you closer to your goals. Let's work together to overcome procrastination and create the momentum you need in order to thrive.
